Introduction to the College of Management
The College of Management was established in 1969. It then set up three
departments: Economics, Business Administration, and Accounting and Statistics. In
1972, the Department of Economics was transferred to the College of Law in
accordance with the university regulations. And the Department of Accounting and
Statistics was separated into two departments: Accounting and Statistics. Beginning in
1973, the Department of International Trade and the Computer Center were established.
In the fall of 1981 a new department was added: Management Information Systems. In
1985, the Graduate Institute of Management was set up. The Graduate Institute of
Finance was added in 1991.
For further development, the Graduate Institute of Applied Statistics and
Information Management were established in 1995 and 1996 respectively.
The primary objective of the college is to supply professional training for
those who aim at responsible positions in corporations, private business, professional
organizations serving business, or government agencies.
In order to carry out the core objective of cultivating managerial talents, the
College places emphasis on teaching diversity, inter-disciplinary research, and
cooperative education.
