Introduction to the College of College of Human Ecology
The College of Human Ecology is also under the administration of The
Society of the Divine Word. In 1994, the departments of Applied Life Science,
Nutrition and Food Sciences as well as graduate institute , Tetiles and Clothing as well
as the graduate institutes formed this independent College which is the eighth College of
Fu Jen University. It is also the first College in Taiwan in the area of food, clothing ,
education for children and parenthood, family counseling. In 1995, the graduate institute
of Nutrition and Food Sciences began to offer doctoral course . In 1996, under the
permission of Ministry of Education ,the Textiles and Fashion Technology Department
is established witch offers a BA course.
The aim of College of Human Ecology is to emphasize the value of human
dignity , the importance of family life, the relationship between human and environment ,
and the vision of unity between human and universe through teaching , studying ,
research and service . To promote the quality of life is also a general aim of the
education of the College.
Up to the second semester of 1997, there are approximately 1500 students in
the College.
